Rob Marciano is a news and weather anchor for the CNN News Group and is based
at CNN's world headquarters in Atlanta. He joined CNN in May of 2003.  His enterprise
reporting contributed to the network’s comprehensive coverage of the historic
2005 hurricane season.  His reports from the field during Hurricane Katrina have led
him to covering almost every weather event since. Rob also serves as a correspondent
for Anderson Cooper 360. Prior to arriving at CNN, Rob served as chief meteorologist
for KATU-TV and 750 KXL News Radio in Portland, Oregon. From 1994-1997, he
worked as morning and then chief meteorologist for KPLC-TV in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
Rob began his career as a weather anchor for WVIT Connecticut News 30 in West
Hartford, Connecticut. Before embarking on a career in television Rob spent three
years living and working in New York City as an Equity Sales Trader. He held
the Series 7 and 63 brokerage licenses and was responsible for executing trades
for institutional investors. Rob grew up in the Northeast and went to college in upstate
New York.  He holds a bachelor’s degree in meteorology from Cornell University
and has the American Meteorological Society’s Seal of Approval.  When he’s not chasing
storms, Rob enjoys the outdoors through skiing, hiking, mountain biking, and playing golf.
