Rob Marciano is a news and weather anchor for the CNN News Group and is based
|
|||
at CNN's world headquarters in Atlanta. He joined CNN in May of 2003. His enterprise |
|||
reporting contributed to the network’s comprehensive coverage of the historic
|
|||
2005 hurricane season. His reports from the field during Hurricane Katrina have led
|
|||
him to covering almost every weather event since. Rob also serves as a correspondent
|
|||
for Anderson Cooper 360. Prior to arriving at CNN, Rob served as chief meteorologist
|
|||
for KATU-TV and 750 KXL News Radio in Portland, Oregon. From 1994-1997, he
|
|||
worked as morning and then chief meteorologist for KPLC-TV in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
|
|||
Rob began his career as a weather anchor for WVIT Connecticut News 30 in West
|
|||
| Hartford, Connecticut. Before embarking on a career in television Rob spent three
|
|||
years living and working in New York City as an Equity Sales Trader. He held
|
|||
the Series 7 and 63 brokerage licenses and was responsible for executing trades
|
|||
for institutional investors. Rob grew up in the Northeast and went to college in upstate |
|||
New York. He holds a bachelor’s degree in meteorology from Cornell University |
|||
and has the American Meteorological Society’s Seal of Approval. When he’s not chasing |
|||
storms, Rob enjoys the outdoors through skiing, hiking, mountain biking, and playing golf. |
